2. About GoAustria
GoAustria provides information about Austrian universities, moderated community Q&A, expert-verified answers, profile assessments and the Ambassador program. We are an independent community resource, we are not a government agency, embassy, or university admissions office.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of registration information you provide.
4. Your account
- Keep your login credentials confidential
- Notify us promptly of unauthorised access
- One person per account unless we approve otherwise
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or harm the community
5. Community content and conduct
When posting questions, comments, or uploads you agree not to:
- Post unlawful, hateful, harassing, or defamatory content
- Share others' personal data without consent
- Impersonate individuals or institutions
- Spam, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the service
- Upload malware or misleading verification documents
All public posts and comments are subject to moderation. We may approve, reject, edit metadata, or remove content at our discretion to maintain quality and safety.
6. Intellectual property
You retain ownership of content you submit. By posting, you grant GoAustria a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, moderate, and distribute your content on the platform for operating and promoting the service. GoAustria branding, design, and curated materials remain our property.
7. Expert and verified information
Verified answers and admin-curated FAQs are provided for general guidance. They do not constitute legal, immigration, or official university advice. Always confirm requirements with official institutions and qualified professionals before making decisions.
8. Free profile evaluation and Ambassador program
Free profile evaluations and the GoAustria Ambassador program are offered at our discretion. The Ambassador program is for members already living in Austria who confirm their identity and residency with a valid permit, visa, or government-issued document. It is not banking KYC or immigration advice, it helps the community recognise trusted members on the ground in Austria. Submission does not guarantee approval, admission to any institution, or visa outcome. Documents are handled under our Privacy Policy and are not displayed publicly.
9. Third-party links
We link to official university and government websites. We are not responsible for third-party content, availability, or privacy practices.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, GoAustria shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our aggregate liability for direct damages shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (or EUR 50 if you use free services).
Nothing in these terms limits liability where exclusion is prohibited by law (including consumer rights in the EU).
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Austria and European Union, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts in Austria shall have exclusive jurisdiction where permitted. EU consumers retain mandatory protections of their country of residence.
